Myriam Simard Parent

Artiste

Myriam Simard-Parent lives and works between Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Montreal, Quebec. She holds a Master’s degree in Sculpture and Ceramics from Concordia University. Her practice is primarily centered on wood sculpture created through direct carving, a process of material reduction carried out by hand using knives, electric rotary tools, and the wood lathe. Infused with the artist’s distinctive sense of humor and imaginative vision, her work appropriates and blends themes drawn from nature, as well as from Québécois and American popular culture.
