Avenue des Lumières becoming a permanent, pedestrian-only green oasis.

Stretching between Leduc Blvd. and Théâtre Manuvie, Avenue des Lumières is being turned into a lush linear park!

Easily accessible from the REM, this new space, containing over 200 trees, has been designed to encourage human connection. It will offer an inviting destination to relax and socialize before, during and after your shopping trip.

How to find your way

  • All stores will remain accessible during construction by way of pedestrian crossings on Avenue des Lumières.
  • The street will be accessible via both ends, as well as the underground parking.
  • Use the rear entrances if access from the front is blocked.
  • Several notice signs have been placed on-site; please follow the directions.
  • Ambassadors will be present on-site to help you navigate.

  • What will the new avenue offer?

    The project involves transforming Avenue des Lumières into a lush, pedestrian-only linear park offering an unrivalled selection of shops, restaurants and year-round entertainment. Once completed, the park will become a green oasis, where you can relax or enjoy a drink on a terrace overlooking a verdant garden before, during and after a day of shopping.

  • When does the construction begin?

    Construction on the project started on May 13, 2024.

  • When will the construction end?

    Construction is slated to end before the new year.

  • Is the street blocked off?

    The street will be closed off, but all shops will remain open. A strategic wayfinding plan has been implemented to guarantee easy access to all shops, restaurants, etc.

  • What measures are being taken to minimize inconveniences due to the construction?

    Construction work will be limited to Avenue des Lumières and a few designated areas and will be completed as quickly as possible. We've also taken steps to minimize noise, dust and other potential disturbances in the area surrounding the construction site. We're committed to making every effort possible to ensure that your shopping experience remains as enjoyable as possible.

  • Will the redevelopment affect the opening hours of shops or other services in the alley?

    No. Opening hours for shops and other services will remain unchanged for the duration of the work.

  • Will the terraces be open?

    Only terraces near Place Extasia will remain open during construction.

  • Will there be any restrictions on pedestrian access during construction?

    The access point for each shop is clearly indicated on the wayfinding map near the construction site. Avenue des Lumières, however, is closed off.

  • Is the underground car park still accessible?

    Yes. The underground car park, with 1,500 spaces, is open.

  • Will adjacent outdoor parking be affected?

    Customers will continue to have access to most of the outdoor parking areas. Only a few spaces will be reserved for workers.
